[InKunming--Festivals]  Xishuangbanna, a prefecture in south of Yunnan province, will usher in Water-sprinkling Festival on April 15 this year, said by local government.

Every tear from April 9 to 17, the prefecture will organize a cross-border trade fair in its capital city Jinghong. Meanwhile, other participatory events will be held then, including swimming competition, dragon boat race, flying sky lanterns on Lancang River, fitness dance performance, basketball match, and cock-fighting show on Yuanchuang square in Jinghong.

It is said that the water-sprinkling festival to be held this year in Xishuangbanna is to celebrate Dai people's new year-- the year of 1376 according to the Dai people's lunar calender.
