[InKunming--Gallery]  Diqing plateau, located in northwest of Yunnan, is a beautiful land near to the sky. It is a hidden picturesque belt between Yunnan-Guizhou plateau and Qinghai-Tibet plateau. It is also a famous scenic spot that nearest to the sun in the province.

On this vast land, alpine meadows are embellished with fresh flowers. Boundless snow mountain seems like stretching into eternity. Canyons and shoals lie with a tremendous momentum. Another name of the place is called Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, where sits the Shangri-la County, a land of idyllic beauty.

Neolithic sites showed that human footprints had been left on the land 7,000 years ago. Slates unearthed there with marks left by our intelligent ancestors have been proved to possess a history of 2,400 years.

 In the history, Diqing region is a corridor and a thoroughfare for nationalities from the north to the south, and for fusion of eastern and western cultures. The renowned “Ancient Tea and Horse Road”, also passes through the land.

 Since Diqing is a lucky place in local residents' hearts. 26 nationalities live together there, including some of Tibetan people, Lisu people, Naxi people, Bai people, Han people, etc. Customs and traditions of these peoples naturally differentiate and fuse on the land, inherited from ancient times to the present.
