[InKunming--Kunming]  Normally, clothes stand for a kind of history and a kind of culture that are worn on somebody's body. To understand a nationality, people can first study the nationality's unique clothes.

Huayao Dai People, which is a special group attached to Chinese Dai people, is allegedly said to be descendants of royal lineage of the ancient Dian Kingdom.

Actually, Huayao Dai People's clothes inherit culture and art of the ancient Dian Kingdom. They mainly live in Xinping county of Yunnan province now.

Colored ribbons tied on waists of Huayao Dai women, are printed with elegant design pictures, and are hung up with decorative tassels, silver bubbles, and silver bells.

"Huayao" in Chinese means flaring decorations surrounding women's waists. In other words, the name of "Huayao Dai" stems from beautiful waists of the Huayao Dai women's clothes.

Besides, main colors black and red that are dyed on the nationality's clothes represent that the nationality is from high-altitude plateau area of Yunnan province.

According to the nationality's traditional customs, Huayao Dai People like to live near the water. They indeed have a great affection for the water.

Because of the water, some rivers flowing through villages they live for generations, trees, flowers, crops grow very well.

Huayao Dai People, worship water, follow water, having formed characters of tolerance and cleanness like the water for thousand years.
