Snow causes 228 mln yuan loss of fresh flowers in Yunnan

According to governmental data, 139,100 mu of fresh flowers were impacted by an unexpected heavy snow a few days ago in Yunnan, a result indirect economic losses of 228 million yuan.

In details, flowers of 54,100 mu in Kunming, 23,000 mu in Dali, and 47,800 mu in Lijiang were destroyed by the snow.

African daisy, carnation, babysbreath, sea lavender, snapdragon, violet, Chinese rose, rose, eustoma grandiflorum, etc. were injured at different levels or died because of snow and frost.

Florists predict that the current flower market may recover after mid-March next year in the province.
