Sixty pieces of paintings of Duan Yuhai, a local landscape painter, will be shown in Yunnan Provincial Museum from November 2(Saturday).

Duan Yuhai, a Yunnan painter, has devoted himself for painting some beautiful landscapes in Yunnan for 8 years until now.

His paintings are always full of humane care on nature, society, and life, attracting a lot of appreciators and painting collectors.

"Pear Flowers" and "Snowy Mountains" are main themes of his paintings. "I love the clean white color that can express my inner feelings from the heart most," Duan Yuhai said.

As a guest professor to postgraduates of Yunnan University, he taught his students to draw in feeling tones. "Every painter can bring his personal spirits, meaningful thoughts into landscape paintings," Duan told his students.

Once, a landscape painting critic judged of Duan Yuhai's paintings: "Appreciators may be familiar with Yunnan's classic landscapes like red lands, tropical rain-forests, rural countrysides, flowers and herbs. However, Duan Yuhai's landscape paintings are different from these. I may call them ‘Noontime school paintings'. In his paintings, we can see landscapes shining under blue skies and white clouds in the sunlight of 29 degrees centigrade, reflecting real plateau sceneries in Yunnan."

"Unlike some painters who may neglect picture composition, I attach importance to both picture composition and color assortment to my paintings, " Duan Yuhai explained.
