Kunming to hold 13th Asia Arts Festival in November

The 13th Asia Arts Festival will be held from November 18 to 22 in Kunming, according to Yunnan government. Artists, scholars, ambassadors of different Asian countries will attend the festival.

During the festival, colorful activities including the first forum of Asian chief librarians, foreign embassies' collections exhibition, exhibition of North Korean artists' oil paintings, Asian micro films show etc. will be carried out one after another.

Huang Jun, head of Yunnan Provincial Department for Cultural Affairs, disclosed that North Korea will bring their state-run art troupe to dance ethnic dances in Kunming. Besides, North Korean artistic works such as oil paintings, porcelain works, pictures, postage stamps, and postcards will also be shown in the festival.

Asia Arts Festival is an regional international arts festival at national level. It has been held in China for 12 times in Hangzhou, Changchun, Nantong, Zhengzhou, Chongqing, and other cities since 1998.

The 13th festival is decided by sponsors to be themed on "Charming Asia, Cultural China, Colorful Yunnan and Beautiful Kunming" to promote cultural exchanges with other Asian countries.
