Puzhebei builds wetland habitat for migratory birds

A wetland habitat for migratory birds was built at the Puzhehei Scenic Spot in Qiubei County, Yunnan province.

The habitat covers an area of 3 square kilometers, including 2.6 square kilometers of wetlands where consist of isolated peaks, lakes and karst caves. At present, more than 200 species live here. Among them, there are thousands of migratory birds, such as: white stork, swan, black-winged kite, heron, egret, etc. Moreover, the place has also a total of 465 species of wetland plants.

The wetland habitat will be opened to public from October 1. Opening hours: 8:00-17:00. Schedule of viewing bird flying: 8:30, 11:00, 14:00 and 16:00.

The planning area of Puzhehei Scenic Spot has been increased from 165 to 388 square kilometers. The total investment is 700 million yuan. As of September 21, Qiubei County received 1.692 million visitors, grew by 30 percent year on year. (Editors: Ryan Li, Tracy)
