The costumes featuring Yunnan ethnic groups are no longer the first choice for tourists, since clothes imported from Thailand and Nepal are also popular here.

"I found the Thai clothes in Wenhuaxiang. Their colors are graceful. With special design and cloth, they impressed me at the first sight. Now, whenever I come to Yunnan, I really notice these clothes." said Zhang, a traveler in the province.

Some more stores are engaging in Thai and Nepalese clothes in Kunming, such as in the Jingxing Flower and Bird Market, Yunfang South Asia Commercial Town and Luoshiwan International Trade Town. Li is an owner of a store in the flower and bird market. He said that the clothes are imported from Thailand, India and Nepal, most of which are hand-made.

The reporter knew from a store specializing in the clothes and embroideries that they have one displaying store and six storages based in Kunming. "The market of ethnic-style clothes is promising in Kunming. More agencies in other Chinese provinces are joining in us."according to the store owner.

July and August are tourist seasons in Yunnan, resulting in the rising sales of the cloth. "Thanks to the geographic location of Yunnan, many people are happy to buy clothes from Thailand and other South Asian and Southeast Asian countries. It also spurs the tourism market in Yunnan."
