Kundu (昆都)

Kundu is known as the bringer of night-life culture in Kunming. People always say that passing through Kundu for one time is worthy of walking through all streets and alleys in Kunming. This is an enriching place including delicious snacks, fashion, leisure and entertainment.

There are various styles of pubs here, such as: slow roll bars, discos bars and performing clubs. If you are a gourmet, the place is also gathered with a variety of snacks—grilled fresh squid, BBQ oyster, Jianshui BBQ Tofu, and crab porridge.

Tips: All the pubs and street foods in Kundu are opened after dinner time and last till 2:00 am or 4:00 am.

Wenhua Alley (文化巷)

Wenhua Alley, located near Yunnan University (at Yieryi Street), is a place to attract foreigners in Kunming. Here gather foods from the world, such as: cuisines of Thailand, India, Japan, Korea and Europe. In the nights, you can also see a lot of foreigners to enjoy street foods here.

Besides, there are many street peddlers, in fashion clothes, selling mobile phone shells, cosmetics, shoes, dresses, potted plants, accessories etc.

Tips: Restaurants in Wenhua Alley open daytime and last till 10:00pm. Street foods are opened til 00:00.

Nanjiang Hotel (南疆宾馆)

There are two night markets of barbecues near Nanjiang Hotel. One is located at Baiyun Alley (白云巷). It’s across from the hotel. Here are varieties of barbecues including spicy crabs, oysters and scallops. The another one is located at Panjiawan (潘家湾), a alley behind the hotel.

Tips: The opening time of barbecue stands is from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am.

Wenlin Street (文林街)

Find a quiet place to enjoy your night time. Here it is---Wenlin Street. There are many kinds of coffee bars, cake stores, and Cafe cubes here.

A bar owner said that bars at Wenlin Street mainly serves beverages, poker cards, board role-playing games, and etc. Customers are mostly office workers. A DIY cake store attracts a number of couples to spend romantic time at night.

Guandu Old Town (官渡古镇)

As a Class AAAA Tourism Scenic Area, Guandu Old Town is not only a place to spend a lazy afternoon without the hassle of leaving the city, but also a big night market in Kunming. When darkness comes, street vendors at the town start to sell folk costume, handicrafts, jewelries, toys, flowers, scripts and paintings.

Besides, a food street at the town offers a wide selection of Guandu dishes.

Fujing Road (福景路)

A snack street at Fujing Road opens at 5:00pm every day. The well-known barbecues are Choudoufu and Baojiangdoufu (two kinds of bean curds). In addition to the traditional barbecues, there are seafood congees, chilli crabs, and oysters.
