The 2013 Shilin International Torch Festival kicked off in Shilin Yi Autonomous County, Yunnan, on July 31.

A series of performances were shown to present the time-honored ethnic cultures of Shilin in the morning on July 31, which amazed the tourists a lot.

Later on, 16 art teams participated in the 2nd competition of Yi’s large three-stringed dance(彝族大三弦舞), which was listed as one of the National Intangible Cultural Heritages.

With many superstars’performances lightening up the atmosphere, the show at night pushed the torch festival to climax, and built a new image, a holy land of love, for Shilin.

The torch festival this year has a lot of highlights, and attracts numerous non-local tourists by its high innovation.

During the festival, Ace kyle, who renowned to be the high altitude prince, challenged to break the Guinness World Records of walking between aloft hot-air balloons in the Naigu Stone Forest, a famous scenic spot located in Shilin Yi Autonomous County.

Besides, bull kings of Yunnan and Guizhou Provinces competed to win a reward of 240,000 yuan. Many other activities were also held, such as embroidery, and a beer-fest with music and foods.
