About 200,000 bikers proposed to install lamps on a 4.1-km Baohua Road near Baozhu Ecological Park, Xishan District, Kunming.
This mountain road has been hailed as a “bicycling paradise” that has steep slopes and sharp turns. Many people ride on this road after four o’clock in the afternoon. Unfortunately, the road always sees biking accidents.
"I like riding on this road in the evening, because it helps to practice my biking skills and abilities. There is no installed light on this road. It’s a pity." Yang has no time to do physical exercise during a day. He often mounts to peak and then rides back home.
He is armed to the teeth whenever he bicycles on this road. It is completely dark on the nights. Equipped with three lights, two installed on the bike and one worn on head, he still worries about the safety risk, because the road is really steep. And each exposure range of three light is only three to five meters. He has witnessed a biker rushing into the woods and getting bruised.
Many people, including the police, expect the road can be lit up with lamps.
