China’s largest underground sewage plant, the Tenth Kunming Sewage Plant was officially put into operation, on July 1.

The Tenth Kunming Sewage Plant is the largest sewage plant nationwide now, and the first underground sewage plant that has been put into operation in southwest China. It is designed to process 10, 150000 cubic meters sewage and produce 45000 cubic meters recycled water per day. Its scope of service reaches an area of 59 km2.

The operation of the two projects achieves the harmonious unification between urban landscape ecology and pollution control, which is of great importance in promoting urban sewage disposal ability, perfecting the rain water collection system, and cutting pollutions in Yunnan. (Editor: Tracy, Lynn)
