March Fair is celebrated from the 15th day to the 21st day of the 3rd lunar month at the foot of Cangshan Mountain in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is the grandest festival for the Bai people who are living in the area.

March Fair is also known as Guanyin (Buddhist Goddess of Mercy) Fair. An old saying goes that Guanyin once preached mercy to the masses on the 15th day of March in Dali. The March Street has gradually become a temple fair for Buddhists to chant scriptures and worship Budda. As one of the vital communication lines, Dali had attracted a large number of Buddhists at that time. With the development of social economy, the fair has now developed into the largest market for commodity transaction in west Yunnan. Businessmen and people living around Dali gather here to participate in the transaction at the festival every year. Various commodities, including foods, medicinal materials, furniture and livestock, are offered at the fair.

In addition, horse-racing, folk dances and songs will also be presented by the Bai, Hui and Yi people.
