Cangyuan's Wengding: last tribe in China

Wending Village in Cangyuan County, southwest China’s Yunnan province.

Wengding Va Village is located in Awa mountains near China-Myanmar border, southwest China’s Yunnan province. It is named Wengding where the clouds are floating in Va language since mists often cloak the mountains through out the year.

About 33 kilomters from the downtown seat, it is situated in the west of Cangyuan County. Warm as it is, it is surrounded by mountains and is a perfect place for sightseeing.

Some Va dwellings have been well preserved there, as well as some local customs. More than 100 families are living there. Thatch-roof architectures have been remained in the village, forming a good reputation of the best preserved original social village in China. It is a spotlight among tourist destinations in the county.
