The Lijiang Ancient Town

Lijiang is a poem in travelers' hearts where a moment can turn forever. Streets in a rainy day and pubs are best places for relaxing.

Finding a hostel and living in Lijiang for some time in winter, you can stroll around the ancient town, having simple food, taking sunshine bathe and drinking tea.

Travel tips:

July and August are rainy seasons in a year in Lijiang, the climate of other months are almost the same. It is cool in the morning and evening, and you are advised to wear a coat. It is dry in the city. Sun cream is a must here.

Getting there:

A, plane

Lijiang Ancient Town is about 28 kilometers from the urban area of the city. You can take a flight there from Kunming, Xishuangbanna, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Nanjing, Mianyang, Xi'an and Shenzhen. It takes about 50 minutes flying from Kunming to Lijiang and the overhead flight ticket is 940 yuan.

B, train

Nonstop trains, K9606 and K9607, are available to Eastern Railway Station from Kunming at night.

Trains K9610 and K9611 leaves from Kunming Railway Station at 10:17 in the morning and arrives in Lijiang at 17:56. The ticket price is 90 yuan for a hard seat.

C, bus

You can take a bus there from Kunming Western Bus Station at Majie Town, Xishan District, Kunming.

The city has the best preserved ancient town in China - the Lijiang Old Town which has been listed in the World Cultural Heritages by UNESCO in 1997.
