The Southern section of Kunming's metro line connecting the Xiaodong Village and the university town in Chenggong District will be put into operation before 2013 Spring Festival.

The trial run of the section has started since November 5 and will be on February 5 next year. The section stretches 22 kilometers, with 12 stations set between the Xiaodong Village station and south University Town Station: Xiaodong Village Station (晓东村)-Erji Road (珥季路)-Xingyao Road (星耀路)- (新亚洲体育城)-South Passenger Station-Dounan Station (南部汽车站)-Chunrong Street (春融街)-Tuofeng Street (驼峰街)-Lianda Street (联大街)-South Yikang Road (谊康南路)-University Town Station (大学城)-south University Town Station (大学城南).

According to the test result, trains on the route run for about 72 minutes in a round trip. Nine subway trains on the new metro line are expected to carry about 100,000 passengers per day. Moreover, two large air conditioners are installed in each cars of the train, with a temperature ranging from 25 to 28 degrees.

Tips:

1.Baggage: weight: within 20 kilograms; lengthen and width: within 1.8 meters; volume: within 0.15 steres;

2. Tickets can be get at the ticket vendors which are set at each stations.

3. Get through the turnstiles within 30 seconds.

4. Your ticket is valid for 3 hours. Ticket price: 0-4 kilometers: 3 yuan per person;

The price will be adjusted by the system automatically ff exceed 4 kilometers;

The ticket price for a whole distance is about 5 to 6 yuan per person.

5. Passengers guide will be distributed for free.
