Located about 10 kilometers west of Shiping County in Yunnan province, Zhengying used to be a city besieged by walls on the four sides. Fences were used as gates on four directions. A two-floor fort barbette was built on the southwest of the village. Today the walls and fort barbette are gone, but some ancestral temples are still remained.
Ancestral temple of Family Chen is the grandest architecture in the village. Built in 1925, it covers a land of 1,240 square meters. The temple gate is in the shape of a memorial archway, brick-structured. Its roof was made of stones.
Another large Ancestral Temple of Family Zheng was a courtyard built in the later Qing Dynasty. Shabby as it is, it has never been repaired before. Some delicate carvings and paintings can be seen on the roof beam and eaves.
