The Stone Forest Scenic Spot will be a sea of flowers in autumn. Nearly a hundred mu of coreopsis, in thousands of postures, sways with the wind in October.

The scenery and ecological environment have been improved by planting more trees and flowers in large scales since it was built over 70 years ago. Hundreds of mu of coreopsis are in full bloom in Naigu Stone Forest, a scientific investigation area of the Stone Forest in the south of Yunnan's Shlin Yi Autonomous County.

One day is surely not enough for traveling in the Naigu Stone Forest, as tourists can not only experience the inequable stone scenery, but also see flowers there.

Naigu means the ancient black in Yi people's language. The stones, generally black, in the scenic area are mainly dolomite limestone formed about 270 million years ago. Stalagnates are densely distributed and in the shapes of castle, pagoda and mushroom. The highest one is over 40 meters. These rare stones look unique and splendid. Karst caves, lakes and peaks are some geographic wonders there, combining with sinking lands and karst-cave low-lying areas. It shows tourists with beauties of the natural sculptures, different colors, boldness and wildness.
