Yuehu Village is situated in Shilin Town, Shilin Yi Autonomous County, Yunnan Province. It is about 15 kilometers from Stone Forest Scenic Area. With luxuriant forests, it is a verdant village in the lush trees.

The transportation in this village is convenient as the Beizhao Road passes through it and Xishi Expressway is just 8 kilometers from it. Some original religious sacrificial activities have still been maintained here so far. Each year sees eight sacrifice rituals in the village and numerous rituals are held in one family every year. All events are held in the woods that's why the the forest coverage here is high. The Mosuo culture in the village has been passed on from generation to generation. All women are able to weave and do embroidery. The embroidery patterns are exquisite. The houses here are built with red walls, wooden structure and are surrounded with green trees. When the autumn approaches, golden corns and red chili are hung for air drying under the eaves.

The wrestling competition is held every other year on certain dates and at special venues. With strict procedures and rituals, it is hailed as a village where traditional wrestling is remained best for Sani people in Yunnan. Villagers believe in primitive religions, showing respect to nature, ancestors and spirits. The animism helps protect the ecology and the traditional culture.

Some lakes here are ample with wild fish, thus, it is also crowned as the town of fish and rice.
