A gala for Qixi, also known as Chinese Valentine's Day, will be held at Kunming International Horticultural Expo Garden on the night of August 23.

Most Chinese remember being told this romantic tragedy when they were children on Qixi, or the Seventh Night Festival, which falls on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, which is usually in early August. This year it falls on Thursday, August 23.

Some well-known singers in this country are invited to present performances on this romantic day in Kunming. A few Yunnan featured songs will also be sung. About 20 programs have been arranged, which may last for 100 minutes. The theme of the night is "hand in hand as we are gradually aging together".

It is co-sponsored by CCTV and Kunming government. Audiences in the whole nation can watch the show on the Channel CCTV3 at 8:30 p.m. on August 23.
