Located in northeast of Tengchong County,Dongshan Mountain has attracted an increasing number of people not only by its unique geographic location and fantastic landscape, but also for its abundant wild medicinal herbs.
Dongshan mountain is believed to be the place to embrace the first ray of sunshine everyday in Tengchong. When the sun rises, everything including flower and grass, will reflect in the sunshine a color of gold, which looks like a thin layer of gold coating on the vast hillside.
Standing on the mountain, one would be able to see the panorama of Tengchong, which ,from a distance, looks like an island in a blue ocean with blue sky, blue mountains and blue artificial lakes. Herds of sheep and cattle can be seen grazing leisurely on grass.
Various medicinal herbs are growing here. "Yebahao", with a fragrance of mint, is one of the wild herbs that can prevent some diseases. "Huocao" and "Kucao" can be used to cure rheumatism and cold respectively, according to local people.
Tips:
Dongshan mountain is located in northeast of Tengchong County. You can prepare some solid food for a pedestrianism to there. You can also drive through a village called "Qincaitang" to get to there.A jeep or a SUV is better. You can also go camping in winter.
