Located on the west of Yunnan province, Baoshan City used to be an important courier station on the "southwest silk road". Covering a distance of 571 km from Kunming to Baoshan, it takes about 45 minutes by flight.

Visitors can travel around some relics along the "southwest silk road". Here, they can see the grand volcanoes, experience ethnic groups' customs at the nationalities' village and feel about the rural sceneries of west of Yunnan province. If you come to Baoshan, volcanoes and "hot sea" hot spring are most-go places. Two suggested tour routes are as follows: 1. Southwest route, you can travel around the terrestrial heat in Tengchong. 2. Northwest route, you can visit volcano groups for half a day and then travel around Yunfeng Mountain.
