Mopanshan (Mopan Mountain) National Forest Park, a well preserved broad-leaved evergreen forests located in the southeast of Xinping County in Yuxi, Yunnan Province, covers a total area of 7232.1 hectares.

It has been listed as one of the national forest parks in China since 1992. Meadows, forests, lakes, flowers, wild animals here form a fantastic landscape for people. Mopan Mountain is a primeval forest of broad-leaved evergreen, with a stumpage accumulation of 443059.2 cubic meters and a forest coverage of 64.2%.

Walking in the forest is just like walking into a fairyland which are embraced by twelve peaks and eleven streams. With an elevation of 1260-2614.4 meters, all vegetation growing in the mountain present a vertical distribution. In different seasons, there will be different sceneries. Spring is the best time for people to enjoy various flowers here. Cuckoo, sakura, banana shrub, primula malacoides are in full bloom, showing a sea of flowers. A flower festival is held in March every year at here, which attract lots of people. When summer comes, green trees and cool streams make one relaxed in the embrace of nature. In autumn, leafs in bright color adorn the whole mountain, which looks like a huge carpet inlaid with gemstones from the distance. And in winter, a blanket of mist lingering in the mountains all the time, presenting a fairyland on earth.  

In addition, the content of negative oxygen ions here is 20-40 times higher than that of urban areas, which is more helpful for people with heart disease, coronary heart disease etc. (Editors:Hysung, Lynn)
