"The green lotus leaves stretch to the horizon, and the lotus looks extremely bright under the sunshine", this is a a Chinese poem about water lilies. It's time for the blooming lotus flowers in July, you can see the lotus flower show in Green Lake Park, Daguan Park in Kunming, Yilong Lake in Shiping County and Puzhehei Scenic Spot in Wenshan.
Green Lake
Spotlight: the transport is very connivent if you live in the urban area of Kunming, capital of Yunnan province. The admission is free here, though the cultivating area of lotus is just 70 mu (about 4.67 hectares), you can still see some competitive flowers here. More than twenty species of water lilies are planted here, and the flowering phase lasts to September.

Daguan Park
Daguan Park, or Grand View Park, is pened at night for resident to enjoy the sight of lotus flowers from July 6 to August 26.
Sixteen landscapes and over 300 potted water lilies are displayed in the theme of "lotus flowers, sunshine and moonlight of the lotus pond". Twenty species of lotus flowers are exhibited together with more than 30,0000 potted plants.
"Daguan Park is opened to the public at night in summer for the first time," according to Daguan Park. Excepting sightseeing, snacks are also prepared in the park.

Yilong Lake in Shiping County
Spotlight: paddling on the lake while watching the lotus flower show can be a very poetic thing on Yilong Lake in Shiping County, south of Yunnan province. You can also have dinner on the mobile "restaurants", in which you are served with fish hot pot and other cuisines made of ingredients from the lake.

Puzhehei scenic spot
Puzhehei scenic spot is embracing tourists with its best sceneries in a year with blooming water lilies. Teeming with favorable fragrance of the flower, you are likely to be attracted by the verdant leaves and the clear water. "The scenery here is fantastic, we are all here but you!"
Travel tips:
Time: the best time to visit Puzhehei is the period between May and September with June and July the best time to see the water lilies in full bloom.
How to get there: you can find buses either at Kunming Eastern Bus Terminal. Driving time is about 4 hours to Qiubei. From Qiubei you can catch a minibus or taxi to Puzhehei. Costs range from 45 Yuan to 65 Yuan.
Accommodation: Accommodations can be found in Qiubei County or the Puzhehei Holiday Village. Qiubei will have lower cost options. But at only about 100 Yuan Puzhehei Holiday Village is quite affordable.(Editor:Lynn)
