Recently Kunming has kept being visited by fresh gale. Several days ago it was reported that trees blown down by wind overwhelmed civil houses. Yesterday even some passerby was hit by dropped billboard. According to staff of Kunming National Reference Climatological Station, the maximum wind achieved 18.5 km/s at 17:06 yesterday, which meets the meteorological criteria of force 8 wind. Meteorological records indicate that windy weather like this is quite common in Kunming’s spring.
