Andy, an American singer, staged a fantastic living concert at Shelter Bar in Kunming on the night of March 23.
We met Andy in Xiangyun Street at the beginning of this month. As he was, he is still a fascinating singer and guitar player. His concert has attracted foreigners some Kunming audiences.
"His performance is real and I can feel him sing from the bottom of his heart. He is different from other singers in China," said Yu, customer manager in a shopping center(新世纪百货). Encountering with Andy on a street, she was attracted by his songs. It was her third time to have seen his performance yesterday. The music ties two strangers together, and today they are friends. When mentioning how to get audiences involved in his performances, he answered friends are fans. So it is easy to get people enjoy in the music in a bar. "I think Andy is outgoing and enthusiastic.He seems to be able to make friends with anyone," said Yu who plans to invite Andy to perform in her shopping center. She believes that Andy's songs will attract and move more people in Kunming.
"He is a talent guitarist," said Ryan, a manager in the bar. Having been in Kunming for nearly six months, he seems to get used to the living here. He also said that the nightlife in Kunming is bland, but he is confident to build the bar into the one with best nightlife in Kunming.
When talking about the differences between performing on the street and in a bar, Andy said that singing on the street is exciting, because he has to be skilled at attracting people's focus. But in a bar the stage and audiences are there, he just needs to enjoy himself. "So far, street performing is my favorite," said he.
In the last report, Andy told us his band Dachong Band was scheduled to record a video in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province. He said he had played in a bar there, but he likes the feeling of playing in Kunming, as Kunming people are cool. He is relaxed and excited playing in Kunming.
