A group of young volunteers took to Cuihu Park Saturday to promote black-headed gull protection.

They dressed like seagulls walking in the crowd and said: ”We are black-headed gulls. I don’t eat breads. I like to eat gull foods.”

The volunteers exchange gull foods for visitors who were trying to feed them bread.

According to organizers, the event aimed at raising public awareness about seagull protection. Volunteers are from various colleges and universities in Kunming.

Students urged visitors not to feed the seagulls with some human foods. “Gull food is more nutritious than bread.”

Every year, a large numbers of visitors have been attracted when seagulls return to Cuihu Park. At this time, volunteers took to the streets to promote black-headed gull protection.

Last year, more than 600 volunteers took part in a signature campaign for seagull protection.
