September and October are peak months for traditional Chinese weddings. However, the high costs are significant burdens for those who are born in the generation after 80s. E-friends from nationwide in China show their local wedding costs. According to a survey from a website, the average cost for a wedding is as high as RMB400,000 in China.

How about the wedding market in Kunming? As estimated in 2006, the bill new couples foot for a wedding was around 100,000 yuan, excluding costs for vehicles and house. Five years later, according to the average level, holding a wedding costs about 150,000 yuan, including the decoration of the house, wedding celebration and party.

How much does it cost for a wedding? The new couples only have to pay 9 yuan for the marriage certificate, but there is no upper limit for high budgeted weddings. A front-page wedding in Kunming was held in July this year, which cost 300,000 yuan for a coal trader’s wedding celebration. "My wedding cost 300,000 yuan", said Liang who lives in a decent family in Kunming. Money spent on house reached 100,000 yuan, 50,000 yuan for a pair of diamond rings and 150,000 yuan for a wedding party.

Based on two bills in 5 years, the cost for a wedding at the same level in 2011 is 50,000 yuan more than that of 2006, with an increase of 50%. Only spending on home appliances drops, other costs show a rising tendency, such as the diamond, wood and labor.
