In total 1050 energy-saving street lamps have been installed along eastern Huanhu Road in Kunming and they will be put into use by the end of June, reporters learned from the installing company.
Tang, principal of the project said, “The new-type energy-saving street lamp uses wind and solar energy to supply power, so that there is no need to lay cable. It can automatically turns on when it is sunny. If there is no solar energy, it will use the power of the wind to generate electricity.”
With the promotion of these energy-saving street lamps, the power consumption is expected to be reduced by 146 kwh a year.
By the end of June, all the energy-saving street lamps will be put into use.(Editor:Hyesung)
