Located in the west of Dianchi Lake, 15 kilometers away from Kunming City, Xishan Forest Park (also known as Western Hill Park or Xishan Park) is one of the landmarks in Kunming with its cultural relics, scenic beauty, mountains and forests. People in Kunming are proud of and deeply attracted by the natural landscape and the religious culture of Xishan Park. The forest park was named “National 4A Grade Scenic Spot” in 2006.
Currently, the front area of the scenic spot has been mostly completed and is expected to open to public in August.
The development of Biji(碧鸡) history and culture ancient town will be the first-built major project reflecting the image of Xishan Park. Meanwhile, an area of 61.11 sq. km of the back hill of Xishan Park(except Longmen(龙门) scenic spot) will be developed by integrating factors like education, medical treatment, theme tour, recreation and leisure. And more entertainment items will be included: forest bath, outdoor tour, camping, rock climbing, jungle walk etc.
The hardware capacities of the scenic spot are also upgrade and improved at the same time. Tourists can enjoy the beautiful night scene of Kunming from Longmen(龙门) as the lighting engineering of it has already been completed. The service facilities, ticketing center, consultancy centre, shopping centre which have been improved will also provide better services for tourists.
The scenic spot has first introduced free intelligent electronic tour guide devices earlier this year to offer better guide services for visitors, which has not only improved the tour quality, but also promoted the image and introduced the cultural connotation of Xishan.
In terms of tour consumption, the scenic spot has been upgrading services in the following fields: eating, accommodation, travel, shopping, recreation etc constantly to offer all-round consumption services for visitors.
